MARGA: Benefit

The Marga will benefit those who visit in that they will be presented with a large body of artistic work and which also has the ability to promote reflection, contemplation and perspective through the themes the work embodies. Individuals will be drawn to the Marga because of its ability to appeal to diverse interests.

The project will directly benefit the group of artists hired to work on the Marga, as well as creating internships or fellowships to work for a certain period of time on the project and will allow for a body of artistic knowledge and specific skills to be passed on. The project will yield an experience that will tie in to subsequent endeavors and establish a permanent venue for continued work.

In addition to the personal benefit individuals will experience, the Marga offers extensive community benefits. It serves as a tourist attraction that will generate revenue. Contingent upon the level of success of the project, a significant amount of money could be raised from admission fees. The investment will enhance the area around the Marga and it will create many jobs, most importantly for artists and artistically related pursuits. A community forum will be made available, attracting numerous possibilities for educational programs on art, environment, guest speakers or performers or other academic interests. Eventually the Marga could be established as a not-for-profit organization with a central staff and possibly contribute revenue to scholarships or other projects.
