Station 3 - Diversity

Station Three describes the character of diversity and ethnocentricity. The divergence of distinct cultural groups and the relationships among them are shown here. The frame of a sweat lodge harbors figures emerging from a central mass, reaching towards six totems that represent the six major regions of the world: North and South America, Africa, Europe and Russia, The Middle East, East Asia and Melanesia and Australia. Unique elements from each of these geographical and cultural regions will adorn the totems and signify the diversification of the "global story."

This station will also illustrate the differences in spirituality and the beginnings of religious practices of worship. The power of ethnocentricity symbolizes the seed of cultural and religious conflict that will be fueled by the elements shown in subsequent stations.
