Station 4 - Time

The fourth station focuses on time. The central image is a spiral unwinding into a road or linear path. This signifies the transformation from a conception of cyclical time based on revolutions and unique repetitions to a chronological, delineated and "historical" measurement of time.
The spiral is comprised of and woven with organic symbols of change, which marks progression and continues to more constructed and mechanical objects, which eventually governed how humans described time. Time also introduces and transforms notions of "natural cycles," recording time, speed, efficiency, and human control.
Human constructions and commodification as a primary human implementation of shaping and governing time are signified within the spiral.
