Station 8 - Power

Central images in Station Eight are geography, technology, dominance, structure and oppression. The Queen stands as a force that presides and determines others? lives. She is a symbol of conquering nature (including humans, animals, land) and the abuse of power. This station demonstrates the inherent forces and powers that humans can harness and the subsequent transformation of power through hierarchy aided by technology and oppression.

There are symbols of balance in power and the domination and misery that misguided authority creates. Different motivations and means of acquiring clout in addition to the social acceptability of holding command over others are shown.

Human force is also contrasted with other conceptions of control. Ideas of community or societal health and the separations among people created by certain forms of authority are presented.
