MARGA: Qualification and Next Steps
I have been working as a professional artist for 40 years. I have worked for commercial businesses and private clients and have gained an extensive body of knowledge of materials, design, construction and installation of sculpture. My technique is unlike that of many contemporary sculptors, and allows for speed and mixing of media unattainable in methods such as bronze casting. This project will integrate artistry, community and environment to create a multidimensional and multifunctional opportunity for all audiences and participants.
The next steps are researching funding possibilities, building a model of the Marga and generating community support for the project as well as continuing to develop and refine the vision of the project. A seed grant would enable the construction of the model and possibly the first station. Pursuant to the initial sculptural work, I will find large-scale funding to hire a staff, establish internships, scout for a permanent home and build the remainder of the project.
