MARGA: Theoretical Overview

The story uses the physical elements and cycles of life as a metaphor for the macrocosmic progression of humans on Earth. Through thirteen stations of primarily metal sculpture, but also poetry, sound and animation, viewers will be presented with questions such as:

  1. Where do I find my place in the world?
  2. How did we come to think and behave the way we do?
  3. How do I relate my personal experience to my environment?

Themes such as birth, indigenous society, gender roles, time, healing, change, grief and death, compassion and rebirth throughout human history will be explored. The form of the Marga will help realize the intent of calling to attention the miracle of our existence and the proposition that we are a global community in which the issues are not our fault but are our responsibility.
